Studio Channel Islands Launches Concerts in the Gallery Series
Studio Channel Islands Art Center (SCIART), 2222 E. Ventura Blvd., Camarillo, is expanding its arts offerings to include Concerts in the Gallery, a series of concert performances featuring world-famous musicians who happen to call Ventura County home. The first concert, Sept. 28, is Armen & Friends, featuring acclaimed concert pianist Armen Guzelimian and three immensely talented friends, Louise Lofquist, Luvi Avendano and David Singer, to perform an eclectic program of music, from Bizet to Gershwin to Rogers and Hammerstein, as well as new music by composer Don Harper. The concert takes place at 7 p.m. in SCIART’s gallery which will present concert goers with a rare opportunity to view a private collection of paintings by Russian impressionist artist Grigory Tatarinov. Tickets are $17.50 for students, $35 general admission and $55 for VIP tickets that include special seating during the concert, a complementary bottle of wine and a private reception with the musicians after the performance. Tickets can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/SCIART_SeptConcert_2019 or by calling Studio Channel Islands Art Center at 805-383-1638.
