SUBJECT: Firearm and Narcotics Arrest
LOCATION: Rose Ave. at Cesar Chavez Dr., Oxnard

On November 18, 2021, at approximately 10:00 p.m. officers from the Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (Gang Unit) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a suspected traffic infraction at Rose Ave. and Cesar Chavez Dr. During the traffic stop officers learned that a passenger in Salas’ vehicle was on supervised release with court ordered search terms. The occupants were removed from the vehicle so that the search could be conducted. Prior to the search, Salas admitted to having an unregistered firearm concealed in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Officers retrieved the firearm and Salas was subsequently arrested.Â
Salas was searched and officers located methamphetamine on his person. Salas was charged with firearm and narcotics violations.
