On April 14, 2022, at approximately 9:53 p.m., witnesses called in on a subject brandishing a firearm from a brown 2000 Chevy Suburban in the 1700 block of S. Oxnard Blvd.
The driver of the vehicle then fired several rounds from the vehicle in an unknown direction. Within approximately one minute from when the 911 calls were received, the first patrol officer arrived on scene and stopped the vehicle.
The driver, Jesse Moore, was cooperative with the officers and was safely removed from the vehicle.
He was the sole occupant and was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun. He was positively identified for the brandishing and for the negligent discharge of the firearm. There were no injuries to any persons nor was there any damaged property located as a result of the negligent discharges.
Moore was also found to have been driving while his blood alcohol was at nearly twice the legal limit of .08 percent. In addition to driving under the influence of alcohol, Moore was arrested for various misdemeanor and felony weapon charges.
