Raymond Gutierrez Jr. (DOB 11/16/59), of Ventura, a former manager in the County of Ventura Public Works Agency, pled no contest to a misdemeanor violation of failing to file an accurate Form 700 Statement of Economic Interests.Â
In December 2014, Gutierrez, who is a licensed real estate broker, acted as the real estate agent for both the buyer and seller of a property located within the County of Ventura. As the dual agent, Gutierrez received through his brokerage company $32,000 from the purchaser, a Ventura County developer.Â
Because of Gutierrez’s position in the Public Works Agency, Gutierrez was legally required to disclose the $32,000 income on his Form 700 Statement of Economic Interests but did not do so.    Â
The case was investigated by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation with the assistance of the County of Ventura Public Works Agency. Based on his plea, Gutierrez was placed on 36 months probation and ordered to pay a $5,000 fine. Gutierrez is no longer employed by the County of Ventura.Â
