Perry Adam Lieber (DOB 4/23/86), of Santa Barbara, was charged with two felony counts of workers’ compensation fraud and one felony count of perjury. It is alleged that Lieber made material misrepresentations concerning the nature and extent of an industrial injury, as well his true physical abilities. It is also alleged he misrepresented the true state of his income while receiving a disability salary and lied under oath during a deposition. Victim agencies, including York Risk Services and the County of Ventura, are alleged to have sustained losses of approximately $148,177.
Lieber is scheduled for arraignment at 9:00 a.m. on July 10, 2020, in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Lieber faces up to five years in jail as well as a fine of up to double the amount of the fraud if convicted on all charges.
