Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On July 6, 2021, at approximately 9:12 PM, the Simi Valley Police Department responded to a collision at Berylwood Elementary, 2300 Heywood St. Officers arrived and saw a small white sedan had collided with the brick retaining walls around the flag pole; however, the driver was not on scene.
The officers located the driver, John Labrecque, a 42-year old resident of Simi Valley, at his residence. They conducted an investigation and arrested the driver for Hit and Run and DUI. He was booked into the Ventura County Jail.
The Simi Valley Police Department would like to remind everyone not to drink and drive. If you are going to drink alcohol, ensure that you have a safe ride home or utilize a taxi/ride share service.
