New charges have been filed against Jacob Anthony Caliboso (DOB 04/25/99), of Oxnard, in Ventura County Superior Court case number 2020017676. The new complaint alleges two violations of of second-degree murder and two violations of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated for the killing of Elva Andrade and Neveah G.
On June 22, 2020, California Highway Patrol Officers arrested Caliboso after he crashed head-on into a motorized scooter driven by Ms. Andrade on Pleasant Valley Road. Seven-year-old Neveah was seated behind her grandmother, Ms. Andrade, on the scooter. Ms. Andrade was pronounced dead on scene while Neveah was transported to the hospital with major injuries. Despite lifesaving measures, Neveah succumbed to her injuries.
Caliboso appeared in court today and pled not guilty to the new charges. The case was continued to February 26, 2021, at 1:30p.m. in courtroom 13 of the Ventura County Superior Court for a hearing regarding bail. Caliboso is currently out of custody on $100,000 bond.
