Incident: Injury Traffic Collision- Vehicle Vs. Pedestrian

Narrative:
On the above date and time, Ventura Police Patrol Officers responded to a call of an injury traffic collision in the area of Thompson Blvd. and Figueroa St. Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a 74-year-old female trapped underneath a vehicle. Ventura City Fire also responded, and police and fire personnel freed the woman from underneath the car.
The preliminary investigation revealed the female was walking eastbound along the north sidewalk in the 200 block of Thompson Blvd. when a vehicle backing out of a parking lot struck her, knocking her to the ground. The pedestrian became trapped underneath the car and sustained major injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her current condition is not known.
The Ventura Police Department Traffic Unit responded and is conducting an investigation. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision.
