Everyone, everywhere, should know how to protect themselves during earthquakes, whether they live, work, or travel to an area where earthquakes are common. The Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill is an opportunity to learn and practice earthquake safety with your coworkers, family, friends, and millions of other people worldwide!
Each year, ShakeOut participants practice the simple, but lifesaving steps known as “Drop, Cover and Hold On”! The goal of the ShakeOut is to encourage people and organizations to be prepared to survive and to recover quickly when the next big earthquake happens.
This year the City of Oxnard will be participating in the Great ShakeOut on Thursday, October 21st at 10:21 am, (Please add this to your calendar). More information about what to do during the ShakeOut Drill and during a real earthquake will follow in additional emails.
