Judge Finds Probable Cause to Hold Thousand Oaks Man for Trial in Wife’s Murder

Ventura County Superior Court Judge Paul Baelly heard evidence in the preliminary examination of Tim Gautier (DOB 6/21/65), of Thousand Oaks, for the murder of his wife Gina Gautier. After the hearing, the judge found probable cause to hold Tim Gautier for trial on one count of murder with a special allegation that he personally discharged a firearm during the commission of the crime.

Shortly before 7:00 a.m. on January 11, 2021, Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2300 block of Fountain Crest Lane, in Thousand Oaks. Deputies found Gina Gautier inside her apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to Los Robles Regional Medical Center, where she died of her injuries. Gautier was arrested at the scene and a firearm was found in the apartment. An investigation by the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office uncovered surveillance cameras in the residence that captured an audio recording of the domestic dispute.

Gautier is scheduled to be arraigned on February 10, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Gautier is currently in custody at the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $750,000.
