Attention, Tutors
Laubach has cancelled the May and June Board meetings and Tutor Talks. If possible, we will meet for our July Board meeting on July 16, 2020.
In the meantime, here are some encouraging comments from tutors still working with their students:
JoAnn says: “My husband and I are doing fine thus far. I have a nephew with Oxnard Fire, and his wife works as an RN in the ER at CMH. Fortunately, they have yet to become ill at all…hopefully this will last. Wishing you and your family the best as well as all the volunteers (and their families) with Laubach Literacy.”
Denise says:Â “I’m calling my student and we are just focusing on conversation.”
A student says: “I appreciate my tutor calling me and sending homework during these times. I practice English and keep learning. Thank you.”
As a courtesy, New Readers Press is offering free access to tutors to their weekly newsletter through June 30. Just type newsforyouonline.com and enter the password 22667F. They have free printable resources such as a Census issue and a Voting Guide issue.
And tutors, please email [email protected] with your stories and experiences of working with your students during these challenging months – we’ll publish them in the June newsletter, thanks. |
