The Road to Tyranny by Don Jans

Live Standup Comedy on the Hill | Hillcrest Center for the Arts 6-8-19

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Live Standup Comedy on the Hill returns Saturday, June 8 at 8:00 pm at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest Dr.  June’s lineup includes Alex Nussbaum, Steve Hofstetter, Tom Clark and Don Friesen.  Professional local comedian Jason Love produces this monthly show in collaboration with the Hillcrest Center for the Arts. The show features a new lineup each month with some of Hollywood’s funniest headliners.   All shows are 8:00 pm with doors opening at 7:30.  Due to the popularity of the shows, which sell out each month, all tickets are now reserved seating and are available three months in advance.  The hour and a half show is for eighteen years and up only, and beer and wine may be purchased with valid ID.     Summer shows are often outdoors under the stars.

    Steve Hofstetter

Hofstetter has also appeared on CBS’ “Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson”, Showtime’s “White Boyz in the Hood”, VH1’s “Countdown”, Sundance’s “On the Road in America”, and ABC’s “Barbara Walter’s Special”. Don Friesen is the only two-time winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition with his act that includes clean comedy about being a father, husband and self-proclaimed “idiot”.  Don has a one-hour Netflix special and has appeared in Thousand Oaks to sold-out audiences in the past.

Alex Nussbaum can be seen in an hour long special on CTV & the Comedy Network and televised appearances on CBC’s Just for Laughs and Much Music’s Video On Trial. Nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for Best Male Stand-up and chosen Best Comedy Show of the Year by Toronto’s NOW Magazine, he can be heard on SiriusXM throughout North America.  His numerous character voices are featured on animated programs on Teletoon and the Cartoon Network, most notably over two dozen characters on Pink Panther and Pals.

    Tom Clark

Comedian Tom Clark has appeared on TBS’s Conan, CBS’s Late Late Show, The Bob & Tom Radio Show, and Comedy Central’s Premium Blend.  Clark travels coast to coast doing stand up and has performed internationally as part of New Faces at the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal and on The Main Stage at The Capetown Comedy Festival in South Africa.  Clark is also an actor and has appeared on such shows as HBO’s Euphoria and Room 104, NBC’s Outsourced, TNT’s The Closer, and the Hallmark made for TV movie The Wish List. After landing the role on Outsourced, director Ken Kwapis invited Clark to be in the Drew Barrymore movie, Big Miracle. You can also see Clark in Columbia Pictures horror comedy Freaks of Nature.  Tom’s Stand Up Special “Outraged” is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

Producer and host Jason Love has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, America’s Got Talent, and over 20 national broadcasts.   He has performed overseas for the troops and on the seas for cruise lines, and was a finalist at the Cabo Comedy Festival.  Jason’s non-profit, Love & Laughter, brings free shows to cancer support communities and others in need.
