    Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Detective Pleads Guilty to Child Molestation

    Neil David Kimball (DOB 6/13/73), of Agoura, pled guilty to a lewd act with a child and unlawful sexual intercourse. 

    In 2017, while serving as a detective with the Special Victims Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Kimball met the 15-year-old victim when she reported being a victim of sexual assault. While investigating that case, Kimball befriended the victim and sexually assaulted her.

    Sentencing is scheduled August 8, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court. According to the plea agreement, Kimball is expected to be sentenced to three years in prison.

     

    The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office is the public prosecutor for the county’s 850,000 residents. The office employs approximately 280 employees including attorneys, investigators, victim advocates, and other professional support staff who strive to seek justice, ensure public safety, and protect the rights of crime victims.
