Julio Martinez Diaz (DOB 07/15/80), of Simi Valley, was charged with the July 21, 2020, murder of Erick Tenorio, also of Simi Valley. The complaint charges one count of murder with a special allegation that Diaz used a knife in the commission of the crime, and one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon on Lena Miller, of Simi Valley, during the same altercation.
Mr. Tenorio died from multiple stab wounds during the altercation with Diaz. Simi Valley police arrested Diaz near the scene of the stabbing on July 21, 2020.
On July 23, 2020, Diaz appeared for arraignment. The arraignment was continued to September 3, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 13 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Diaz is currently in custody with bail set at $515,000.
