Press Release | LOS ANGELES – On Monday, July 5, Metrolink will operate on a Sunday schedule in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Metrolink will operate a regular weekend schedule on Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4. Metrolink station arrivals and departures can be seen at metrolinktrains.com/schedules.
$10 Holiday Ticket and $10 Weekend Day Pass will be available for purchase for all three days of the holiday weekend. The $10 Holiday and Weekend Day passes permit unlimited rides on Metrolink on the day of purchase.
To help families travel and explore Southern California, kids ride free on Metrolink Saturdays and Sundays. A maximum of three children, ages 17 and under, can ride for free with one adult with valid fare.
Over the holiday weekend, Metrolink’s Rail 2 Rail® program with Amtrak, which regularly allows Metrolink Monthly Pass holders to travel on Pacific Surfliner trains within station pairs at no additional charge, will be suspended from Friday, July 2 through Monday, July 5. The program will resume on Tuesday, July 6.
Federal regulations require the wearing of face masks and physical distancing on public transit, including Metrolink trains. The requirements are in place to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
To maintain safety and protection against the spread of the coronavirus, Metrolink trains are cleaned regularly throughout the day with hospital-grade disinfectant with special attention given to seats, head and armrests, grab rails, tables, bathrooms and trash areas. Metrolink uses antimicrobial air filters that remove more than 99 percent of contaminants, including the coronavirus.
