National Honey Bee Day
Saturday, August 20th from 12-2pm
at the Agriculture Museum

Join us for a celebration of our pollinator pals and their vital role! Volunteers will help kids and adults make their own craft honey bee out of pipe cleaners while beekeepers share fun facts and delicious honey samples. Take part in a bee-themed sing-and-dance-along too!
Also, welcome our new bee colony and browse bee-themed merchandise from local vendors. Check out the ‘Save the Pollinators’ art exhibit by C.R.E.W.’s Green Valley project, and explore our beautiful bee-friendly gardens.

Life Drawing
Wednesdays: August 17, August 31, and September 14 from 6:30-8:30pm
at the Museum of Ventura County
For all 3 sessions: $50 for members and students, $65 for non-members.
Join other artists for a series of three open model drawing sessions at your Museum. Models will be clothed and nude. Organized by artists Cathy Barroca and Barbara Brown. Chairs and easels will be provided; artists must bring their own supplies, paints not permitted. Note: this is not an instructional class. This is a great opportunity for artists of all skill levels to work from a live model.

“Arty’s Amazing Accordion” by Amada Irma Pérez

The debut of Amada’s new bilingual book “Arty’s Amazing Accordion!” Meet Arty, a young musician, as he transforms people’s dreams into a song. This event will include a reading of a portion of the book, a break for refreshments, a Q&A, and a book signing. Book is for kids and adults, ages 6 and up.

Melina Sempill Watts’ first novel Tree is an exploration of 229 years through the point of view of a California oak. Artist Jeff Sojka painted his vision of the tree’s reality. This cross media exhibit, on-site and virtually, will expand your relationship to nature and its inherent consciousness.

The 8th Annual Labor Day Vintage Tractor Fair

Celebrate iconic hallmarks of Ventura County’s agricultural heritage at this popular and free public event. Enjoy a vintage tractor display by the Topa Topa Flywheelers, music by Illunis, a petting zoo, kids’ crafts & carnival games, a plant giveaway by UC Master Gardeners, food trucks, and more.
