On August 9, 2019, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office contacted and arrested Matthew Bucio of Newhall for his involvement in the sales of narcotics to residents of Ventura County.
On August 9, 2019, Detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office contacted Bucio in the 2600 Block of Tapo Canyon Road in Simi Valley. During the contact, Bucio was found to be in possession of a large quantity of heroin and cocaine. Bucio was also in possession of a loaded firearm concealed in his pants pocket. Bucio was arrested and transported to the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for processing.
On August 10, 2019, detectives executed a signed search warrant at a residence in Newhall associated with the investigation. During the search, detectives located a large amount of narcotics, paraphernalia indicative of narcotics sales and money believed to be proceeds from narcotics sales. In all, detectives seized approximately 468 grams of cocaine, 83 grams of heroin, 524 Ecstasy (MDMA) pills, and a loaded unregistered firearm.
Bucio was arrested for various narcotics and firearms charges and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility where he is awaiting court proceedings. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Gang Unit (SGU) and Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) assisted with the investigation, which is still ongoing.
