Energy independence is a good policy goal. We are all aware of how Putin’s war in Ukraine has raised our gas prices.
I will be voting No on Measure A and B. If Measure A and B pass, it will shut down our local oil and gas industry. If we don’t have local production, we leave ourselves even more dependent upon unstable and costly foreign oil.
The shutdown will also hurt our local economy and local workers. I don’t want to see people who work in the local oil and gas industry lose their jobs, nor do I want to see local businesses impacted by bad policy choices.
Ventura County government can’t afford to lose the taxes provided by the oil and gas industry. Measure A and B is bad for business, bad for workers, and bad for Ventura County. Please join me in voting No.
