Setting Brushfires of Freedom by Don Jans

    Ormond Beach and Lagoon Area

    By Jeffrey Scarberry

This situation needs to be addressed ASAP. The Ormond Beach and Lagoon encampment areas have been cleaned up several times in the past but the ongoing neglect continues.

I understand there’s a multi-million dollar state grant that will facilitate another major intervention later this year.

While this is good news for now, unless some subsequent monitoring takes place the encampments will return and continue to destroy this sensitive wetland environment.

This should never be allowed to happen again.

Completely disgusting! The city should be ashamed for allowing this!

The encampment at 5th and Harbor has been cleaned/cleared multiple times also, but the “residents” keep coming back. There is no protected habitat, but it is very unhygienic. The sewage must leak into the ground water.
