OXNARD, Calif. – The Pacifica High School football team will be celebrated at various events throughout the City of Oxnard this week in honor of its recent State championship. Pacifica High became Ventura County’s first public school to win a State football championship during an impressive 34-6 victory over Oakland-McClymonds this past Saturday, Dec. 14 during the CIF Division 2-A State championship bowl at Cerritos College.

CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK SCHEDULE
● Oxnard City Council Meeting – Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 5 p.m. Pacifica High players and coaches will be honored by the Oxnard City Council at the start of its regularly scheduled meeting in the Council Chambers (305 W. Third St.)
● Pacifica High School Pep Rally – Wednesday, Dec. 18 The school will celebrate its championship with a student pep rally on campus. Local elected officials and Oxnard City representatives will be in attendance to join in the celebration.
● Championship Procession – Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 4:30 p.m. Oxnard police and fire personnel will provide a personal escort for the team to the Oxnard Union High School District Board meeting, where the Tritons will be recognized by the School Board. The procession will go through several neighborhoods including: East Village, Colonia, Rose Park, Wilson, Carriage Square, and Fremont South. The public is invited to come out and cheer on the champions as they pass by.

The procession is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. at Pacifica High School and end at the Oxnard Union High School District (309 S. K Street). It is tentatively planned as follows:

● Eastbound Martin Luther King Jr. Drive
● Southbound Juanita Avenue
● Eastbound Colonia Road
● Eastbound Camino Del Sol
● Southbound Kohala Street
● Westbound Santa Lucia Avenue
● Northbound Rose Avenue
● Westbound First Street
● Northbound Juanita Avenue
● Westbound Cooper Road
● Southbound Garfield Avenue
● Westbound Third Street
● Northbound “C” Street
● Westbound Ivywood Drive
● Southbound “F” Street
● Westbound Fifth Street
● Northbound “G” Street
● Westbound Second Street
The procession will end upon arrival at the Oxnard Union High School District Board meeting.
