Oxnard Police Department Incident Press Release
On February 18, at approximately 7:46 p.m., officers from the Special Enforcement Unit (gang unit) responded to a call of gang members possibly involved in a fight in the west alley of Perkins Rd. south of Clara St. As the officers arrived on scene several of the suspects fled southbound in the alley. Several of the suspected gang members were contacted in the alley. One of the suspects, a 17-year-old male juvenile, was in possession of a loaded revolver. Possession of the firearm was a felony because the firearm was not registered to him. The juvenile was also in violation of California’s Gun-Free School Zone Act for possessing the firearm within 1,000 feet of Art Haycox Elementary School.
