Craig Beck will serve as the Interim Public Works Director. He previously served the City of Long Beach for more than 30 years before retiring as the City’s Public Works Director in 2020.
In Long Beach, Craig oversaw a Public Works team of 500+ people who delivered services to operate, preserve, and enhance the City’s physical infrastructure, transportation systems, and general upkeep, including the City’s refuse and recycling utility operation. He was instrumental in implementing priority projects, including the City’s $125M Capital Improvement Plan and public infrastructure projects funded by Long Beach’s Measure A sales tax.
In his interim role, Craig will be supporting Oxnard’s recruitment of its new Public Works Director while also spearheading the City’s implementation of Measure E priorities, which includes restoring street paving, maintenance of parkways and medians, tree trimming, and cleaning up the gateways of the City.
