Salvador Banales (DOB 10/08/49), of Oxnard, was found guilty by a jury of five lewd and lascivious acts upon children under 14, and two lewd and lascivious acts upon children 14 or 15. The jury found true special allegations that he committed the crimes against more than one victim, engaged in substantial sexual conduct as alleged in two counts, and that the statute of limitations had been extended.
The crimes took place from 2005 through 2018 and involved two female family members who are now adults, and a 12-year-old female relative.
Sentencing for Banales is scheduled October 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. in courtroom 14 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Banales faces a maximum of 88 years 8 months to life in state prison. Â
