At 7:39 pm, June 14, 2021, Oxnard Police Officers responded to a disturbance call at Oxnard State Beach, 1601 S. Harbor Blvd. The incident was reported to involve 100 juveniles, fireworks, and bottles being broken. Responding officers were met with thrown bottles as they were surrounded by about 300 young adults and teenagers. Several units from both Port Hueneme PD and The Ventura County Sheriff’s responded to assist. Two adult males were arrested for firearm violations. One Oxnard officer suffered a minor hand injury during the arrest. No injured parties were located at the scene. By 10:00 PM, the crowd had fully complied with directions to clear the park and beach areas.
Arrests:
David Martinez (19 yrs): Arrested for a number of firearm charges related to possessing two loaded P80 handguns with high capacity magazines. Additional charges for resisting officers during the arrest.
Juan Martinez (18 yrs): Arrested for a number of firearm charges related to the handguns found. Additional charge for resisting officers during the arrest.
