OXNARD, Calif.- The Oxnard Public Library welcomes back local author and retired Oxnard Police Department Public Information Officer, David Keith on Saturday, July 13th 2019 at 3:00 pm. Mr. Keith will speak on his third novel entitled Equal Time. Equal Time offers an inside look at what happens when a law enforcement officer becomes involved in a controversial shooting.
Investigator Mia Serrano, seven months pregnant, becomes embroiled in the most controversial deputy-involved shooting in the history of Rocklin County. Jack Keller, despite a long and difficult battle with both Mia and Sheriff Mick McCallister, takes the lead on a critical element of the case. The three attempts to put their tumultuous relationship behind them as they seek the best possible outcome of the unfortunate situation, but it’s no easy task as a violent and unstable man, outraged by the shooting, takes aim at Mia and her family.
David Keith has nearly thirty years of experience in criminal justice and policing. As the longtime spokesman and Community Affairs Manager with the Oxnard Police Department, he publicly
handled high profile cases including more than 200 homicides. Considered a leading expert in media relations, David trained officers and staff from over five hundred police agencies across the nation in media communications, community outreach, and crisis management.
