“Burglary Tourism” Comes to California and Simi Valley

    .

By Stephen Frank,  California Political News and Views

This story is personal for me.  I live in Simi Valley, which according to the FBI is one of the safest cities in the nation for crime, for a city of our size—125,000 people.  Yet, we get hit every day with crimes from illegal aliens that go unreported since the police do not bring charges, since the DA does not bring charges for the quality of life crimes committed by the illegal aliens.

“Illegal migration is a huge problem. But legal tourists can also take advantage of our system to commit crimes. That’s what happened in Southern California when Chilean criminals here as tourists committed hundreds of burglaries.

Hundreds of break-ins are being blamed on international thieves from Chile who obtain temporary visas as part of a trend of “burglary tourism” in Southern California.

Jonathan Garay, 29, Kevin Castillo, 22, and Eduardo Queralto, 22, were arrested last week on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy, according to the Simi Valley Police Department. The three were in the United States on temporary visas from Chile, authorities said.

Now we have to worry about those given temporary visas.  We need immigration reform, NOW.  Why do the Democrats prefer the criminals to the victims?

California | NRA Files Lawsuit Against Los Angeles for Blacklisting Contractors Affiliated with the NRA

    0

On April 24, 2019, NRA filed a lawsuit challenging the City of Los Angeles’ recently adopted ordinance requiring current and prospective contractors working with the city to disclose any relationships with the NRA as a violation of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. Make no mistake, the goal of this outrageous Ordinance is to discourage NRA membership and silencing support for the Second Amendment.

The First Amendment acts to limit governments from demanding disclosure of political affiliations and associations. But the City’s recently adopted ordinance is nothing short of modern-day McCarthyism by attempting to silence opposing viewpoints. This is a dangerous position and a concern for everyone who values their rights to free speech and association.

“Politicians are free to disagree with the NRA’s pro-freedom, firearm safety, and self-reliance message, they are notfree to censor it — as this ordinance would do when NRA supporters drop their NRA affiliations for fear of losing work from the City of Los Angeles because they get put on this ‘blacklist’ with the City of Los Angeles,” said Chuck Michel of Michel & Associates, president of CRPA and civil rights attorney.

Community Help Leads to Arrest of Vehicle Theft Suspect in Simi Valley

Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release

About one week ago, on 4/19/19, The Simi Valley Police Dept. Patrol Bureau conducted a Vehicle Theft investigation in which the victim’s car was stolen from the “park n ride” located at Tapo Canyon Rd. and the 118 Fwy. The vehicle taken was a white Honda Accord and, at the time, there were no suspect leads. Later on that evening, SVPD officers were dispatched to an unrelated call for service in the 1500 block of Deanna Ave. Upon arrival on Deanna Ave., officers noticed a white Honda Accord that matched the description of the stolen vehicle from earlier. Further investigation confirmed it was the stolen vehicle. The officers contacted the resident of the house where the Honda was located. The resident stated that he had a “Ring Doorbell” video of a person pulling up in the white Honda and exiting the vehicle to the front of his house. Using the “Ring Doorbell” video, Officers were eventually able to identify the suspect as Dustin Leming, a Simi Valley resident. Today, 4/26/19, it was learned that Dustin Leming was staying at a home in the 1600 block of Ona Cir. A plan was put together and SVPD units responded to the location. Upon searching the residence for Leming it was discovered that he was hiding in the attic. After some persuading , Leming exited the attic and was placed under arrest. He was booked at the Ventura County jail for 10851 VC, Vehicle Theft and 148 a PC, Delaying or Obstructing an officer.

Strong relationships between police agencies and the communities they serve are critical to maintaining public safety and effective policing. Police officials rely on the cooperation of community members to provide information about crime in their neighborhoods. This incident is a prime example of the community helping to get a felon off the streets.

Action Alert Update – SCA 5 narrowly approved, but moving forward

    2
Earlier this week, we sent out an Action Alert asking all HJTA members to call lawmakers on the Senate Governance and Finance Committee, urging them to oppose Senate Constitutional Amendment 5. This measure would make it easier to pass tax increases by cutting the vote needed to approve education parcel taxes from the current two-thirds down to just 55 percent.

SCA 5 is an attack on Proposition 13, which says any local parcel tax must be approved by two-thirds of voters.

We’d like to update you on the outcome of the hearing in the committee. The bill did pass out of committee by a vote of 4-3. Democrats Jim Beall, Bob Hertzberg, Mike McGuire and Scott Wiener voted for SCA 5. Republicans John Moorlach and Jim Nielsen voted no. In an interesting turn of events, the final “no” vote was from State Senate Democrat Melissa Hurtado. This moderate district includes parts of Kern and Fresno counties, as well as Kings and Tulare County.

HJTA was joined in opposition to SCA 5 by a number of groups including the California Chamber of Commerce and the Family Business Association of California.

There are currently 29 Democrats in the Senate, and if three of them oppose SCA 5 or abstain from voting, it will fail in a vote on the Senate floor. Senator Hurtado’s “no” vote was an encouraging move in this direction, but more needs to be done. The next stop for SCA 5 is a hearing in the Elections and Constitutional Amendments Committee. A date for that hearing has not yet been set.

HJTA is committed to the fight to stop SCA 5 and a similar Constitutional Amendment, ACA 1, from becoming law. You can continue to help by clicking on this link and printing copies of our online petition to give to friends and neighbors: https://www.hjta.org/take-action/print-and-mail-petition/

You can also help by contacting your State Senator to tell them how important it is to protect Proposition 13. You can find your representative’s name and contact information at this link: http://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/

Thank you for your continued calls to legislators, which makes a difference because it is drawing attention to Proposition 13. Together, we’ll keep fighting for California taxpayers.

New Housing Report Shows Home Prices Dropping in Southern California

    1

    By Debra Tash

New data shows that Southern California home prices dropped in the month of March.  The data was collected by CoreLogic, from their website: “Powering Housing Through Data, Analytics and Connectivity”. In a six county region outlined in their complete report march-2019-southland-chart mean prices fell by 0.1% or an average of $18,500.  Homes reached their peak last June in 2018. However if you note on the chart below several areas of Ventura County saw selling prices increased  They include certain zip codes in Oxnard, Simi Valley and Ventura, the cities of Fillmore, Ojai, Santa Paula and Westlake. Moorpark declined by the largest percentage.

Most areas didn’t show an overall drop in value with the exception of Orange County.  Even Los Angeles didn’t decline overall in pricing.  However in what otherwise would be considered a stagnant market the trend isn’t rosy for sellers.  From Curbed: “But the market is changing. Because prices have risen faster than wages, the unaffordability of homes is taking a toll on sales. The threat of higher interest rates have also kept some prospective buyers out of the market. As a result, more homes are now on the market; they’re staying on the market for longer and price cuts are on the rise.”

Metro areas are doing better than the suburbs.  However, if inventory piles up it may turn into a buyer’s market out here.

Uber Confirms Anti-Abortion Driver Was Fired For Safety Reasons

    0

    Rachel Stoltzfoos | Staff Reporter

Uber confirmed Thursday it fired a driver who refused to drop a young woman off at her destination when he found out she was on her way to get an abortion. The company said he violated safety rules.

“Our Community Guidelines clearly lay out safety as a top priority and any actions that threaten the safety of drivers and rider will be investigated,” a spokeswoman for the company told The Daily Caller. “Dropping someone off in the middle of nowhere threatens someone’s safety.”

The woman’s story came to light after she recounted what happened on Reddit. She said the driver questioned her about her destination, and then abruptly pulled over during the trip and “left her on the side of the road” after he concluded it was an abortion clinic.

“Are we going to an abortion clinic?” he asked, according to her post. And when she didn’t reply, he went on to say his wife is five months pregnant and that the procedure is awful. “There is so much they don’t tell you. You’re going to regret this decision for the rest of your life.” He then told her she is making a mistake. (RELATED: Uber Launches Campus Safety Initiative After SC Student’s Death And LA Sexual Assaults)

“It took all of my strength not to start crying but I managed to keep it together by looking out the window and avoiding his gaze,” she wrote. “After we were about halfway to the destination, he suddenly pulls over with no warning. There was a gas station and a closed antiques store, and around us was farmland and forest. He said ‘I’m sorry, but I can’t take you the rest of the way. I can take you back to [my city], but you won’t be able to find another Uber out here.’”

The woman said she hailed a cab, and that the driver hung around for about 15 minutes but eventually drove away after she insisted she would be fine and told him to go back. She was then picked up by a cab and taken to the clinic, and she said she gave a detailed account of what happened in a phone call with an Uber representative the next day.

“Even thinking about this experience brings tears to my eyes,” she said in the post. “I can’t believe someone would be this cruel. An abortion is already traumatic enough, and not at all a decision I take lightly.”

In addition to getting the driver fired from Uber, the woman said she is pursuing legal action. (RELATED: Uber Wants To Send You To The Hospital)

Uber has a policy that a driver cannot discriminate against a rider because of the destination. “[C]ancelling trips or using features in the Uber app to avoid receiving trip requests solely for the purpose of avoiding a particular neighborhood due to the characteristics of the people or businesses that are located there violates these guidelines and may cause you to lose access to your account,” the guidelines state. But a spokeswoman for the company told the Caller he was banned from the service for safety reasons.

The woman later updated her post to address pushback from Reddit users who criticized her decisions.

“For all the people who say I deserved this kind of treatment, I have nothing to say to you,” she wrote. “I come from a politically conservative family, so I understand being pro life and disagreeing with my decision to terminate my pregnancy. However, the driver was aware of my decision to get an abortion within 10-15 minutes of picking me up from all his probing questions.”

The Robert Mueller Report: Blacks Better Be Careful

    0

    ThyBlackMan Reporter Raynard Jackson

(ThyBlackMan.com) As I always say, “Weak people take strong positions on weak issues.”

Exhibit A for this is the recently released Mueller report.

Democrats have lost their damned minds over this report.  They didn’t get the result they wanted, an indictment of President Trump, so they figured if they keep investigating, they will come up with something they can use to remove Trump from office.

Mueller’s report was very clear, on both the accusations of collusion and obstruction, there was NOT sufficient evidence to bring charges in either circumstance!  Period.  End of sentence.

Was there unflattering information about Trump and his aides in the report?  Yes.  Did Trump and some of his aides walk up to the line between legal and illegal?  Yes.  But, in our system of justice either you violated the law or you didn’t; and Mueller clearly concluded that Trump and his aides did not cross the line.

So, legally Trump and his aides are in the clear; politically is where the problem is– for Democrats, especially Black Democrats.

Let’s get one thing straight, Democrats don’t have the guts to actually file articles of impeachment against President Trump after Mueller has clearly stated there is not sufficient evidence for him to bring any charges.

Now radical liberal Democrat members of Congress like Maxine Waters and Al Green are running over each other demanding that the president be impeached.

Hmmm, do you really want to go down that road?

Let me paint a picture for you to consider.

Jussie Smollett, the actor who concocted a fake story about being assaulted in Chicago, had all charges dismissed against him.  Legally, like Trump, he is in the clear.

In all probability, the U.S. Department of Justice is going to file federal charges against Smollett for mail fraud because he mailed a fake letter threatening himself but made it seem as though the letter was mailed by someone else.

I can guarantee as clear as day that Waters and Green will be the first to claim that the Justice Department is only doing it because Smollett is Black, with absolutely no evidence to support their claim.

But wait.  Let me make sure I understand.  Mueller found insufficient evidence to bring forward charges of collusion and obstruction against Trump; but Democrats say to hell with Mueller, we want impeachment.

But, if and when something similar happens to a Black, then it is racist?  I am through.  I have a headache!

The one takeaway for me in the Mueller report that no one seems to be talking about is how the report made clear that in America we have two systems of justice.  One for the rich and well connected—Jussie Smollett and Hillary Clinton; and one for regular people like Pookie and LaQueesha.

Russian intelligence knew how corrupt and vulnerable the Clinton’s were to their intelligence operations.  They knew the Clinton’s loyalty was to money, not America.

Every country, let me repeat, EVERY country that has the means, spy and interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.

I laid this out in a column I wrote two years ago titled, “Russia is Winning the War for American Minds.”

Americans, for the first time in history, have had a front row seat to a psychological operations campaign live and in living color; in real time.  This, indeed, is unprecedented.

So, to radical Black liberals, you better be careful!  You didn’t like the results of the Mueller report, so you want to treat Trump as though he was indicted.

When this happens to someone Black, remember you started it!

In liberalism, intent is more important than results.  As a matter of fact, that is the sole basis of liberalism not results.

So, when white folks hold you to the same standard; please spare me your cries of racism!

Democrats are in the process of ensuring the reelection of Donald Trump as president.  They have provided absolutely no serious vision of where they want to take America.

They have offered nothing but grandiose platitudes to the American people, especially to Blacks; reparations, DC statehood, etc.

Have you noticed that not one Democrat candidate for president has mentioned anything about the killings going on in Chicago?  Or the stagnant wages of the Black worker despite the phenomenal Trump economy for Blacks?

They have spent more time talking about amnesty for the upwards of 30 million illegals because they are too ignorant to realize that when you increase cheap labor into the marketplace wages go down!

The reason Democrats are obsessing about the Mueller report is because they have nothing of any substance by way of policy to offer the American people.

The reaction by radical Black liberals to the Mueller report should serve as a cautionary tale for the Black community.

There will be a “Black” version of Donald Trump and he will be subjected to the same treatment as our current president.  When it happens just admit that what’s good for the goose is good for the gander; and it has nothing to do with race!
