City of Simi Valley to Consider The Future of Gun Shows at the Monday, April 8 Meeting

    0

The City of Simi Valley plans to have discussions on possible action regarding the Ventura County Board of Supervisors request that the City act in opposition to any contracts for future gun shows at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.  The fight for keeping gun shows across the state has intensified as gun control activists organize and lobby local communities to stop gun shows.  Recently, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors sent a letter to Simi Valley requesting that they take formal action to request that the Ventura Fairgrounds stop allowing gun shows.  So far these tactics have not worked because the pro-2A community has showed up and spoken out at all of the Ventura County Fair Board meetings.

We need your help, please use the TAKE ACTION button below to contact the Simi Valley Council Members!  If you live in Simi Valley, please consider attending and speaking at the City Council Meeting on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 6:30pm2929 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley, CA, 93063. The discussion will be number 8A on the agenda.

When Is It A Baby? Do People Know When Life Begins?

    Jessica Kramer | Contributor

Actors in Hollywood are boycotting filming movies in the state of Georgia because, like many other states, they have passed a Heartbeat bill, protecting the life of unborn children when a heartbeat is detected.

The Daily Caller News Foundation decided to ask people at the Cherry Blossom Festival on the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. whether they believed that human life in the womb should be protected and when life began.

When asked if human life should be protected, only a couple of people said yes, with most avoiding the “messy” and “sensitive” question. It was affirmed that the woman’s right to an abortion was of primary concern.

Most couldn’t even tell when life began. One man believed that when life begins is “subjective.” (RELATED: Bar-Hopping With Liberals On Election Night)

Fatal Traffic Accident in Simi Valley

Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release

On Saturday, April 6, 2019, at approximately 10:33 a.m., Simi Valley Police Department officers responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a 2014 Kawasaki motorcycle and a 2018 Toyota Corolla sedan in the 2900 block of Texas Ave. When the officers arrived on scene, they observed a male subject, later identified as 38-year-old, Simi Valley resident, Jason Char, and his motorcycle lying in the middle of the roadway. The officers also observed a female, 60-year-old, Simi Valley resident, sitting in the driver seat of the car. The car had driver side collision damage.

Ventura County Fire Department and American Rescue Ambulance personnel arrived on scene and checked both parties for injuries. The paramedics pronounced Char’s death at the collision scene. The female driver was transported to a local hospital for moderate injuries. She is currently in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer from the Moorpark Station observed the motorcyclist traveling westbound on Alamo Street near Texas Ave. a short time before the collision. The CHP Officer advised his agency’s Dispatcher to notify Simi Valley Police Department regarding the motorcyclist traveling at an unsafe speed in the area. During this time, Simi Valley Police Department Dispatch received a report of a traffic collision on Texas Ave. It was later determined that Jason Char was the motorcyclist who the CHP Officer reported earlier.

The traffic collision scene was shut down to vehicle and pedestrian traffic for several hours. The Simi Valley Police Department Investigators interviewed witnesses, searched for video evidence, and utilized a 3D laser scanner to map the collision scene. The exact cause of the collision has not been determined, but speed appears to be a factor.

Anyone who has information regarding the collision should contact Traffic Investigator Daniel Kahlbacher at: (805) 583-6180.

Democrats And Media Fall For Old, Deceptively Edited Clip Of Trump On MS-13

Amber Athey | White House Correspondent

Democrats and members of the establishment media fell for a viral clip purporting that President Donald Trump called asylum seekers “animals” on Friday at an immigration roundtable.

In reality, the clip in question is from an event in May 2018 when the president was clearly referring to members of the MS-13 gang as “animals.” At the time, CSPAN posted a deceptively edited clip that cut out someone else’s remark about MS-13 that the president responded to, making it sound like Trump was talking about immigrants more generally. (RELATED: Media Falsely Accuses Trump Of Calling MS-13 Animals)

The shortened clip was reposted on Friday by Twitter user Mark Elliot, who falsely claimed that the president was referring to “people asking for asylum” and did not indicate that Trump’s remarks were not new.

“We have people coming into the country…You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals,” Trump said in the video.

The fact that Trump held an immigration roundtable on Friday in Texas only added to the confusion of people who believed the remarks were said recently. Just as many members of the media fell for the old CSPAN clip last May, a number of Democrats, journalists, and pundits began tweeting angrily about the president’s “new” comments.

Journalist Yashar Ali attempted to clear up the misconceptions about the viral video and noted that even Snopes determined in May 2018 that the president was talking about MS-13.

    https://twitter.com/yashar/status/1114493750527578112?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1114493750527578112&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fdailycaller.com%2F2019%2F04%2F06%2Fdemocrats-media-edited-clip-trump-ms-13%2F

The president made clear in a separate instance last May that he was referring to the violent El Salvadoran gang, telling a reporter, “I’m referring to the MS-13 gangs that are coming in. If you look a little bit further on in the tape, you’ll see that.”

“So I’m actually surprised you’re asking this question because most people got it right,” Trump said. “MS-13, these are animals.”
