POLITICS | Caught on Tape! Smith Supporters Once Again Stealing Garcia Signs

Garcia supporter reports three signs stolen, following unfortunate precedent set during May special election

Valencia, CA – Yesterday a Garcia supporter reported having his sign stolen from the front yard of his home on three separate occasions, including the latest instance caught on camera above.

In the past month, Mike Garcia yard signs have been vandalized and stolen from homes and businesses across the district at an alarming rate. As liberal politician Christy Smith’s campaign continues to collapse following her staunch opposition to AB-5 repeal efforts, her jobs-killing law that may force Lyft to shut down California operations, threatening hundreds of thousands of jobs, supporters are once again showing their frustration.

“First it was denigrating Mike Garcia’s military service, then it was supporting the defunding of our local law enforcement and now Smith supporters are resorting to rogue vandalism,” said Mike Garcia Campaign Spokesperson Lance Trover. “Christy Smith should immediately condemn these desperate actions from her supporters.”

This is not the first time Smith’s spiraling campaign has prompted these types of outbursts. As she fell behind early in the May special election, Mike Garcia yard signs around CA-25 were reported stolen or vandalized.

Mike Garcia believes in a strong national defense and is a pro-business, pro-taxpayer, political outsider with nearly 20 years of service to this country as one of the first Super Hornet strike fighter pilots in the Navy and is a highly decorated US Naval Officer.  Garcia is a first-generation American whose father immigrated to the US in 1959 and has lived in the 25th district for nearly all of his life.  Garcia lives in Santa Clarita with his wife and two sons. He was elected to Congress on May 12, 2020, winning a Special Election with 55% and becoming the first California Republican to flip a Democrat seat since 1998.

The 25th district encompasses the cities of Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster and the northern part of the San Fernando Valley.  The median income is $76,866 and the ethnic breakdown is 45.8% White, 8% Black, 7.7% Asian and 35.3% Hispanic.
