Politics | Trump Trains Rolled through the County this Weekend

    By Debra Tash

In the closing weekend of the 2020 presidential election there were rallies held all over the country in support of President Trump’s reelection, even in deep blue states like California.  Ventura County was no exception.  Three of the biggest local events were in Camarillo on October 31st and Simi Valley and Ventura on November 1.  The events, which were grassroots, were announced on the Facebook page, SoCal Trump Train Events & Rallies.

Several citizen journalists were in attendance.

The Camarillo Trump Train launched from the Edwards Movie Theater.  It looped through the city and was miles long.

Here are some photos from Saturday:

The most contentious event occurred in Ventura this morning. It started off at the Winco.  Tim McCoy, who attended with his family, said that someone tried to block the road by stopping a car in the center of the right of way.  Also his 8 year old son counted 50 “fingers”.  Tim took out his bullhorn and advised one of the rabble rousers that he had children in his car and to “man up.”

At the Simi Valley event, which was the largest of the weekend, there were over 1000 cars and an estimated 8000 attendees. It was staged at the Best Buy/Babies R Us parking lot. Attendees were able to shop for Trump gear, flags, Americana items and even food, solid fare with hamburgers and hot dogs and nachos.  I spoke with one of the organizers, who only wanted his first name used.  Jason confirmed it was a grassroots event.  They arranged to broadcast announcements in a limited range on a FM radio channel and also provided a barcode that attendees scanned into their phones to get the route of the car parade.

Commerce was alive and well at the event.

One attendee took out her bullhorn and ticked off the reasons why fellow citizens need to stop the spread of Socialism.

They hit the road, having waited for over an hour in some cases to get out of the parking lot due to so many in attendance.

Lots of noise in Camarillo Saturday. FBi investigation of Trumpers stalking a bus in Texas.

Proud not to be associated with them. Three cheers to the person in the Toyota giving them the universal salute. Wish I would have.
