On May 17, 2019, Ventura County Sheriff’s Gang Unit investigators were in the area of Motel 6, located on East Harbor Boulevard, in the city of Ventura. While in the area, investigators saw Joseph Guinn and Daniel Gallimore coming out of a motel room and loading up belongings inside a vehicle. The investigators made contact with Guinn and Gallimore who are both documented gang members. Guinn was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant for violation of probation. During the contact, Gallimore fled back into the motel room. Gallimore eventually complied and was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant and resisting arrest.
Investigators invoked probation search conditions for both Guinn and Gallimore. During a search of the motel room, investigators located Kerri Kenyon inside along with prescription medication and heroin packaged for sales. While searching the vehicle, investigators located an unregistered loaded 9mm handgun and methamphetamine.
Following the search, Guinn was additionally charged with firearm related charges. Gallimore was additionally charged with possession of narcotics for sale. Kenyon was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of narcotics. All three subjects were transported and booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility. While in custody, deputies discovered additional narcotics hidden on Gallimore’s person.
On May 21, 2019, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office filed the following charges on Joseph Guinn – 29800(a)(1) PC- Possession of a firearm by a Felon, 30305(a)(1) PC- Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, and 25400(a)(1) PC- Carrying a Concealed Firearm in a Vehicle.
Daniel Gallimore was charged with – 11351 H&S- Possession for sale of a controlled substance, 4060 B&P- Possession of a controlled substance, two counts of 4573(a) PC- Bring Drugs into a Jail, and 148(a)(1) PC- Resisting arrest.
Kerri Kenyon was charged with – 11550(a) H&S- Under the influence of a controlled substance and 11377(a) H&S- Possession of a controlled substance.
