On June 12th at about 11:51 PM, officers from the Oxnard Police Department conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation in the 3100 block of Saviers Road, in Oxnard. The driver of the vehicle, David Hernandez and a 17 year-old male juvenile passenger were found to be under the influence of marijuana. A loaded 9mm handgun and assault rifle with an extended magazine were found concealed in the vehicle.
Hernandez is prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior felony convictions. Both Hernandez and the juvenile male were arrested for multiple firearms related violations
