    By Sheryl Hamlin

The December 4, 2019 Santa Paula City Council included two important vacancies and the annual council elections for Mayor and Vice Mayor.

After receiving no application which met all the criteria, including residency, the city received an application from a qualified resident, who is currently the Principal of San Sebastian elementary school: Maria Grace Kelly. After her swearing in by Acting Deputy City Clerk Nunez, the new City Clerk took her seat observing the rest of the meeting.

Dan Singer is Officially City Manager

After a stint as Parks and Recs Director, Acting City Manager, and Provisional City Manager, Dan Singer is now the official City Manager with a ratified contract. Having been in the city as various positions, his move to permanency was “seamless”, as he characterized it. Always the diplomat, City Manager Singer praised Council Member Juarez for his architectural skills in building the parade float in which he rode along with the council and SPPD Chief Rodriguez.
