On Friday September 4th, UFW Foundation joined efforts and collaborated with Revive Community Church in serving well over 300 families as we distributed an estimated 300 grocery bags, 300 care packages, over 150 bags of clothes, dozens of pairs of shoes, and tons of toys. It was truly a community relief event, and it was such a humbling experience being able to bless those families who are under-served or underprivileged.
Maribel Cano and all her team at UFW did an exceptional job in coordinating and hosting this event, and they are sure making an impact to those in need. We will be working together to possibly host these events once a month at Revive Community Church.
Ventura County Behavioral Health also participated as they provided resources and support through their mental health program “Logrando Bienestar”, which translates to “Achieving Well being”. We were able to connect with individuals and families on a personal level and provide much needed support.
Also, taking into consideration that this month is Suicide Prevention month, we offered a variety of promotional materials, items, and guides to promote mental health in partnership with a remarkable organization called “Sana Mente”– every mind matters directed by Emily Blender.
And as always, we could not have made this event possible without the support and continuous donations from Friends of Field Workers, and many agencies, organizations, and individuals that contributed to our efforts. And to our all our volunteers who give so much of their time, energy, and effort to make these events possible. THANK YOU!!
If you know of a family or individual that can truly benefit from this blessing, please share this information and details with them. If you or your organization would like to help with in-kind donations or monetary support, please feel free to reach out to me or our church office. Full measures of prevention, safety, and security were enforced and followed. Masks or any other form of face covering was required, and physical distancing was enforced. Please rest assured that our staff and volunteers took all necessary precautions at this event.
