Significant Gift to St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital Supports Patient Care

St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital (SJPVH), a Dignity Health hospital, is pleased to share it has received one of the largest gifts from the Esper A. Petersen Foundation. The undisclosed financial gift will go directly to help fund patient programs and services now and in the future.

The Petersen’s history of giving to SJPVH in Camarillo spans more than a decade. The Foundation has been a principal contributor to several hospital projects, including the expansion and modernization of the Emergency Department, the enhancement of cardiovascular services, and the Circle of Dignity Campaign, which helped fund the new 75,000 square foot hospital.

“The Camarillo community continues to grow and change, and through it all, St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital has been there,” said Esper Petersen III, during the check presentation. “The hospital has maintained a focus on their mission and are a vital part of this community. I am happy to continue my family’s legacy of support for St. John’s Hospitals.”

In honor of this incredible gift, the hospital’s new lobby is now named the Esper A. Petersen Foundation Welcome Center.

“We are honored by the Petersen’s generous support and their dedication to helping us continue providing the excellent health care services our community has come to expect and deserves,” stated, Darren Lee, President, and CEO of St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital and St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
