    Simi Men arrested for firearms possession

    Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release

    During the month of December 2020, Sheriff’s Gang Unit detectives began an investigation regarding the illegal possession firearms occurring in Ventura County. Detectives arrested Trevor Hargesheimer in Simi Valley and located a short-barreled AR-15 style rifle with a suppressor, ammunition, and magazines. Hargesheimer was booked in the Ventura County Jail for being a felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of Ammunition, and possession of an assault rifle.

    On January 29, 2021, Anthony Ballina was arrested by the FBI and LAPD with the assistance of the Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives in relation to a gang related homicide that occurred in Los Angeles in January 2021. Ballina was booked in Los Angeles County for robbery and burglary.

    Sheriff’s Gang Unit detectives served search warrants at Ballina’s residences in Chatsworth and Simi Valley. Detectives located a ballistic vest, an AR-15 type rifle with a loaded magazine, and a 9mm pistol with a magazine and ammunition. Ballina was booked for felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of an assault rifle, and possession of body armor by felon.

    The Sheriff’s Gang Unit is assisting LAPD detectives with their homicide investigation and providing information which may be pertinent to their investigation of Ballina. Convicted felons are prohibited from owning or possessing firearms, ammunition, or body armor.
