Simi Valley and Yarrow Family YMCA Indoor Fitness Centers Reopen March 29

Westlake Village, Calif.—The YMCAs in Simi Valley and Westlake Village will reopen their indoor fitness centers Monday, March 29.

Both Ys’ indoor facilities have been closed since last summer. Sanitation and social distancing procedures have been put in place following county guidelines. Masks will be required while inside and outside YMCA buildings.

“We’ve spaced our workout equipment at least six feet apart. Our staff will disinfect surfaces and provide a thorough cleaning of the facility throughout the day,” says Ronnie Stone, President and CEO of the Southeast Ventura County YMCA. “We look forward to welcoming everyone back. We’re confident we can provide our members with a great, safe experience.”

Both facilities are limited to 10 percent capacity. To keep track of the number of members inside the fitness centers, reservations are needed. Current members and those who reactive their membership will receive instructions on how to make reservations using a YMCA app.

Current Simi Y hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (closed Saturday and Sunday). Yarrow Y hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 7:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday.  Both facilities are closed midday for a deep cleaning.

Members can still take part in outdoor fitness classes and can work out in each of the Ys’ new outdoor fitness centers. Virtual exercise and enrichment classes are also available. Per county regulations, pools will remain closed until the county moves into the Orange tier.

For more information, contact the Simi Valley Family YMCA (3200 Cochran Street) at 805-583-5338 or the Yarrow Family YMCA (31105 East Thousand Oaks Blvd., Westlake Village) at 818-707-9622.

    Southeast Ventura County YMCA

As part of the community since 1964, the Southeast Ventura County YMCA is a nonprofit charitable organization. Its mission is to build relationships, impact lives and strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The three Southeast Ventura County YMCA branches are Yarrow Family YMCA (serving Agoura Hills, Westlake Village and Oak Park) Conejo Valley YMCA (serving Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Moorpark and the Santa Rosa Valley) and Simi Valley Family YMCA (serving Simi Valley). The branches served over 20,500 residents last year including more than 7,000 who were able to participate because of money raised during the annual support campaign. https://www.sevymca.org
