Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On July 8, 2019, at approximately 7:13 a.m., Simi Valley Police Officers responded to a Burglary Investigation at the Best Buy store located at 1173 Simi Town Center Way. Their investigation revealed that at approximately 2:50 a.m., unidentified suspects cut a hole in the roof of the store. Suspects put a 24’ foot ladder through the hole in the roof and climbed down into the store. After the suspects entered the store, they cut open a caged area in the warehouse containing various Apple brand products. Suspects removed numerous Apple products and exited the store through the hole in the roof. Best Buy store staff estimated that approximately $93,000 dollars’ worth of Apple merchandise was stolen from the store.
According to Best Buy Corporate Security, there have been similar style burglaries at Best Buy stores in Southern California over the past several months. It is probable that the same suspects may be involved in these other burglaries.
