Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On 8/30/19 at approximately 2:56 AM, officers from the Simi Valley Police Department responded to a report of a woman being choked in the 1900 Block of Heywood St.. Upon arrival, the victim stated that her ex-boyfriend showed up at the home and tried to get in. When the victim wouldn’t let him in, he threatened to slash her tires, so the victim exited the house to confront him. During the confrontation, the suspect produced a small knife and swiped it at the victim, cutting her dress.
He then choked the victim before fleeing the scene.
A search of the area resulted in finding the suspect a short distance away.
He was identified as Dominick Karpusa 11/13/96. Karpusa was arrested for 273.5 PC, Domestic Battery and 245 PC, Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Karpusa was booked at the Ventura County Ja
