Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
At approximately 3:46 PM, a traffic stop for several vehicle code violations was conducted at Galt St. and LA Ave. The driver (Tyler Schneider 29 yrs) of Simi Valley informed the officer that he did not have a valid drivers license. Several Officers responded to the scene and recognized Schneider from previous arrests. Schneider was arrested for driving on a suspended license as well as not having a court ordered, breath alcohol ignition interlock device.
Upon searching the vehicle an AR-15 Assault Rifle with a loaded, high capacity magazine was located. Upon further inspection it was found that the rifle was an illegal Assault Weapon without a serial number. A large amount of possibly stolen property as well as numerous Identity Theft documents were found.
Schneider was booked at Ventura Main Jail for Driving on a Suspended License, not having an interlock device, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of an Illegal Assault Weapon, Possession of a High Capacity Magazine, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Identity Theft and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
