Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
On August 21, 2019, at approximately 6:45 PM, a Simi Valley Traffic Officer observed a maroon Ford Mustang driving at a high rate of speed. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop for the speeding violation and the driver failed to yield.
The driver sped up and attempted to evade the officer in a reckless manner and led them on a pursuit. The driver was stopped in the area of Patricia Ave. and Hubbard St. and was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as Simi Valley resident Jose Martinez 18 yrs. old and was arrested for felony evading and driving without a license.
The suspect was booked at the Ventura County East Valley Jail and his booking photo is available through the Sheriff’s Department.
