This time-honored community event is back this year!
Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District and the City of Camarillo are excited to announce the return of the much-loved, annual Summer Concert Series held at Constitution Park in Camarillo. The highly anticipated and long-standing community event was canceled last year due to COVID-19 safety concerns, but with restrictions recently loosening, and after working diligently to ensure all appropriate safety precautions are in place, the Summer Concert Series has been given the green light to proceed.
After careful consideration, the concert dates and bands for 2021 have been chosen:
Saturday, July 24, 5-7pm, Gold Rush Country
Saturday, August 7, 5-7pm, Twisted Gypsy
Saturday, August 21, 5-7pm, Smith The Band
Saturday, September 4, 5-7pm, Raymond Michael
As always, the concerts will be held at Constitution Park located on the corner of Carmen Drive and Paseo Camarillo. There will be four concerts in the series this year and admission to concerts is free with performances starting at 5pm and ending at 7pm. Residents are welcome to bring low folding chairs, blankets and a picnic dinner to enjoy during the concerts. Food trucks will be on site offering tasty options for a purchased dinner or dessert. Seating is on the lawn with first-come, first-serve basis. Residents will be allowed to save their spot in advance by placing their chairs on the grass, no earlier than 8am the day of the concert.
The District conducted a community survey in 2020 to find out what music genres were most in demand, and the results were: Rock & Roll, Pop, Country and Rhythm & Blues. This year’s performers have been chosen in light of this feedback from residents.
“It is an incredible privilege to be able bring back this hugely popular musical event, and an amazing opportunity to unite our community after a challenging year, to celebrate, relax and enjoy”, said Connor Soudani, Recreation Specialist at Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District and event manager for the Summer Concert Series.
COVID-19 safety protocols will be consistent with the most recent guidance from the California Department of Health and county health. Masks will be required for unvaccinated attendees.
Community partners are being sought by the District to support this wonderful local tradition. Volunteer opportunities are also available. Please contact Katlyn Simber-Clickener at (805) 482-1996 x107 or [email protected].
