On the morning of February 4th, 2022, detectives with the Moorpark Investigations Bureau arrested Ruben Amezcua of Moorpark, in the city of Simi Valley. Amezcua was wanted in connection with a Criminal Threats call that occurred several days prior in the city of Moorpark.
The incident began on Feb. 2nd, when deputies from the Moorpark Station were called to the area of Amherst and Stanford Streets for a disturbance. When they arrived, deputies spoke with several neighbors and learned that a suspect identified as Ruben Amezcua threatened to kill one
of the neighbors and was possibly armed.
Other neighbors reported seeing Amezcua flee the scene to the area of a nearby residence that he was not associated with. Deputies surrounded
and eventually searched the residence but were unable to locate Amezcua.
The case was then assumed by detectives with the Moorpark Investigations Bureau. Detectives located and arrested Amezcua in the city of Simi Valley without incident. Amezcua was booked at the Ventura County Main Jail on Criminal threats charges, drug related charges, and a parole
hold. His court date is pending.
