H.R.5 is a Congressional legislative act to “prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, gender identity and sexual orientation, and for other purposes.” (Text taken from the actual legislation)
H.R.5 adds “including sexual orientation and gender identity” into various sections of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Doing this, equates immutable genetic characteristics such as man, woman, age, or race with consciously made behavior choices, when in fact, the two categories are opposites of each other.
Should this legislation pass, it will set extremely ominous, far reaching, and consequential precedents, as it abolishes any universal or objective standard by which to measure rightful law, allowing public policies to become dangerously arbitrary. While enforcement of HR5 will result in direct violations of constitutionally guaranteed First Amendment Rights to individual freedom of speech and freedom of religion as illustrated by the following examples:
H.R.5 will require teachers and students to use names and pronouns different from a man’s or women’s biologic sex, forcing them to participate in speech and practices with which they disagree.
Compelled speech is also forced upon business owners through mandated use of “preferred pronouns”.
Doctors will be required to provide medical interventions that violate their conscience and religious beliefs. In addition, they are forced to abuse the practice of medicine, acting in complete denial of cellular biology and the chromosomal DNA of every autosomal cell in every person’s body as either 46XX for women or 46XY for men.
H.R.5 violates the purpose of Our Constitution as stated in the preamble, “to ensure domestic tranquility” and “promote the general welfare” because it threatens the safety of public spaces. H.R.5 will dangerously allow men to enter women’s public bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers. Schools will be forced to allow boys into girls’ locker rooms, bathrooms, and showers.
This legislation would allow men to unfairly compete in women’s sports, denying women the opportunity to engage in any meaningful competition or sporting events of their own.
In addition, H.R.5 makes it unlawful to disagree with ideas that are a fundamental denial of reality, forcing people to choose between using their intellect and exercising their free will or suffer severe financial and criminal penalties.
H.R.5 eliminates the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, an extremely important law defending religious freedoms and liberties as section 1106, Rules of Construction within H.R.5 states: “The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 shall not provide a claim concerning, or a defense to a claim under, a covered title, or provide a basis for challenging the application or enforcement of a covered title.”
It is extremely important that all Americans fully understand the consequences of this legislation. They must understand how it will affect their everyday lives as they try to live under these new conditions.
HR5 is a clear and dangerous violation of constitutionally guaranteed rights, as well as simple common sense and common decency, while accurately characterized as hostile and threatening to anyone who disagrees with its content or implications.
Please call your senator and tell why they need to vote NO on HR5.
Thank you for being willing to consider these important perspectives.
