The 36th annual self-guided Ojai Studio Artists Tour – one of the premier art events in California – is set for October 12, 13 & 14. Showcasing a bevy of local painters, sculptors, jewelers, ceramists, a woodworker, digital, glass and fiber artists, the 2019 Studio Tour will be captivating. As in the past two years, many studios will be open on Monday.
Over 60 studios throughout the enchanting Ojai Valley will be open each day from 10am to 5pm, with Artist Demonstrations and Experiences at select studios. New this year are Experiences for supporting members. For example, Supporting Members can participate in creating a work of art that they can bring home or participate in a group piece. All members of the public can watch, but only Supporting Members can participate. For more information, go to www.OjaiStudioArtists.org/tour-studio-experiences-and-demos.
For early arrivals and locals, plan your tour at our “Pre-Tour Artist Profiles” event at The Ojai Valley Museum from 7 – 9 pm. Led by an OSA artist, the program introduces the work of each Tour artist. While you are at the museum, you can also view the Origins Exhibit with pieces many artists specifically created for the theme.
The Gala Wine Reception will also be held at the museum on Saturday night from 6 – 8 pm and is a private event for ticket holders only. The event is both an opportunity to socialize with OSA artists, listen to music by J.B. White, Jon Paquest and Martin Young; bid on silent auction experiences including cooking with celebrity chef Jeffrey Zurofsky; private house party with Pauline Frechette, an invitation to KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” and more. Proceeds from the silent auction benefit OSA’s youth art scholarships and community art needs.
On Sunday, from 6 – 8 is the Sunday Social at Topa Mountain Winery. Join us for a no-host bar, drink specials and bites.
Tour tickets are $35 in advance, $40 day of event, $25/person for groups of 10 or more, $15 for students, 17 & under free, and cover studio visits all three days and admission to Saturday’s Reception and Sunday Social.
