Simi Valley Police Department – Incident Press Release
At 7:30 p.m., Simi Valley Police Department officers responded to Kohl’s department store in the 2900 block of Tapo Canyon Road for a report of a Grand Theft in Progress. One of the officers located the getaway car on the 118 Freeway driving toward Los Angeles. The officer began to follow the suspect vehicle and it exited the freeway at the Yosemite Avenue offramp. When the car reached Cochran Street, the driver stopped the car and all three occupants of the vehicle fled into the surrounding neighborhood.
Officers quickly surrounded the area and began a methodical search of the area with the use of police department K-9’s. After an exhaustive search, all three suspects were eventually located and apprehended with the assistance of the K-9’s.
All three suspects were treated at the hospital for minor injuries and will be booked into the Ventura County Jail for the following charges:
1. Carlos Arredondo (28 years-old, Los Angeles) Conspiracy to Commit Grand Theft, Grand Theft, additional outstanding warrants, and resisting arrest.
2. Gina Peneleu (25 years-old, Inglewood) Conspiracy to Commit Grand Theft, Grand Theft, an additional outstanding warrant and resisting arrest.
3. Carlos Peneleu, Jr. (24 years-old, Inglewood) Conspiracy to Commit Grand Theft, Grand Theft and resisting arrest.
