On 09/20/2021, at about 7:30 a.m., an 11-year-old male juvenile was riding his bicycle to Cerritos Middle School when he was assaulted by an adult male.

The victim was riding his bicycle westbound on the sidewalk of Avenida De Los Arboles, near Sapwi Trails Park, when the suspect stepped in front of the victim and forced him to stop. The suspect placed both of his hands over the juvenile’s wrists, while the juvenile was still gripping the handlebars. The suspect held on to the juvenile’s wrists but did not say anything. The juvenile was able to free one of his hands and shouted at the suspect. The suspect became alarmed and ran eastbound on Avenida De Los Arboles towards Westlake Boulevard.

After the suspect ran away, the juvenile rode his bike westbound towards an unknown woman who was walking her large Husky dog. The woman asked the juvenile if he was ok, and he said he wasn’t hurt and continued riding his bike to school.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 50- 60 years old, 5’9”, 155 pounds, with long brown hair and a long beard. The suspect was wearing a black shirt, black pants, gray socks, and no shoes.

Detectives from the Thousand Oaks Police Department are actively investigating this case and seeking information from the public.
