Two local businesses, The Blend Superfood Bar and Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters, have launched programs to help support health care professionals by providing them with free meals. Both located at The Collection at RiverPark, each business is inviting the community to contribute to show their gratitude.
The Blend has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to feed the local health care workers and help keep the restaurant’s staff employed. For every $10 raised, The Blend will provide a meal to the brave frontline workers. The restaurant’s goal is to raise $10,000, which will provide 1,000 meals. “The Blend is a locally owned small business, that along with many other businesses, has been heavily impacted by the outcome of COVID-19,” said The Blend’s Hernan Lopez. “We need your help during these challenging times to keep our business alive and to support our health care workers.”
To claim a free meal, health care professionals simply need to show their medical ID and/or the medical IDs of those whose orders they are picking up. The Blend’s menu includes a variety of healthy acai bowls, smoothies and juices. To learn more, go to https://www.theblendsuperfoodbar.com.
Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters is offering the community the opportunity to give back to local medical workers by purchasing Ragamuffin Snack Packs. There are two snack pack options that, depending on selected items and quantity, may include freshly baked pastries, a jug of latte, granola and yogurt, croissant sandwiches, and coffee.
“There are some amazing teams of medical workers and first responders who are working long hours and risking their time and health for us, so we want to give back to them,” said Sarah Pritchett, owner of Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters. “The COVID-19 virus has had a huge impact on our business as well as our way of life. During a hard time we have to stick together and stay positive. We appreciate your support of our company and our neighbors at The Blend as we work to share good.”
Customers can suggest which healthcare facilities should receive the donations by sending an email to [email protected]. To learn more and purchase a snack pack, please visit https://ragamuffinroasters.com.
