Today, Former Naval Officer and fighter pilot, and current candidate for Congress, Mike Garcia, released a video commemorating Memorial Day and remembering those who sacrificed their lives in defense of the country.

“As a Naval Officer for almost 20 years, I’ve lost a lot of friends and shipmates. They bravely paid the ultimate sacrifice so we as Americans may always live free,” Garcia said. “We thank them and must never forget them. We honor these heroes who gave all so we may remain the greatest nation in the world.”
Garcia, a first-generation American citizen, is a highly decorated United States Naval Officer who was honored with becoming one of the first F/A-18E Super Hornet strike fighter pilots in the Navy. He flew over 30 combat missions during Operation Iraqi freedom over Baghdad, Fallujah, and Tikrit.

For me personally, there is no more important day than today.
As a Naval Officer for almost 20 years, I have lost too many friends and shipmates.
I remember them every day but especially today and with a heavy heart.
Memorial Day represents an opportunity for all Americans to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice so many of our military members and their families have made to preserve the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.
America is the greatest country on Earth, and we are blessed to live in this nation.
We ride proudly on the shoulders of the heroes who have given all.
We thank them.
We must never forget them.
And we should never take our way of life for granted.
May God Bless the United States of America.
