Please include the comment below under April 21, 2020 meeting, agenda item 11 thanks …..
How often does the public thank you for doing too much?
Thanks for Supervisors’ and staff’s outstanding efforts to address the pandemic crisis.
While I appreciate your concern and most steps taken, we must also be mindful of their severe detrimental impact on the economy, which could ultimately be worse than the COVID-19 plague itself and result in catastrophic job. income, capital and savings loss, supply chain collapse, depression, bankruptcies, crime, domestic abuse, illness, depression, death, shattered families and lives.
Please ensure that only actions which truly make us safer are pursued, by May 1. Steps like closing store aisles, halting CDC compliant church services and closing CDC compliant businesses/organizations likely do not. Conversely, I have seen obvious safety violations which officials and citizens alike should speak up/act upon. There is a difference between an abundance of caution and an overabundance of caution.
Please note my April 17 editorial in Citizens Journal:
Politicians and Health Care Bureaucrats: You Have No Idea What You’ve Done on COVID-19
