Santa Paula Police Department – Incident Press Release
On Friday September 4, 2020 at approximately 10:52 pm an officer was stopped at the stop light at the intersection of Harvard Blvd. and Peck Road. At that time the officer observed the suspect vehicle, a white Lexus sedan, run the red light at the same intersection heading eastbound. An attempt to stop the vehicle was made however the vehicle fled northbound on Elm St. at a high rate of speed. A pursuit was initiated which concluded in the 200 block of Laurie Lane.
The driver, identified as Ricardo Herrejon age 20 of Santa Paula, was taken into custody without incident. During a search of Herrejon he was found in possession of a fake California driver’s license. As a result of the above incident Herrejon was arrested for 2800.1(a) VC – evading a police officer, 23103 VC – reckless driving, and 14610(a)(1) VC – possession of false identification. Herrejon was transported to Ventura County Main Jail.
